Learnvia's gateway math courseware is intended to remain free to students.
Why is it free? Because we want all students to have the greatest opportunity for success in essential gateway math courses. These courses are often critical to student's progressing in their majors and advancing their educational and professional dreams, yet often are key barriers. By removing added cost to students beyond their normal college tuition and fees, we eliminate a potential burden for some students.
How is it free? Initially, Learnvia is free via support by CMU and substantial funding from the Gates Foundation. Learnvia is developing models that can sustain the courseware's ongoing support and continual improvement while keeping the courseware free to students.
