Although the Calculus 1 courseware does not have a particular focus on business applications, we routinely use business applications to motivate calculus concepts. Ex: maximizing profit, minimizing cost.
The courseware is also built in a modular way, so topics like trigonometric derivatives are not intertwined with the main concepts. Further, instructors can remove modules involving trigonometry from their courseware instance prior to assigning the courseware to students.
